HOME EXAM => Ideas?
Seit heute um 9h sitz ich schon an meinem home-exam im Fach Tourism Planning and Development focusing on the Baltic Sea Area.
HMM?
1. At the seminar, the concepts of ‘sustainable tourism’ and ‘sustainable development’ in the Third world were discussed, through an ‘actor approach’. Critically analyse and discuss the development of more ‘sustainable’ forms of tourism in ‘Third world countries’ on the basis of the following questions;
a) “Sustainability is a contested concept, a concept that is ‘socially and politically constructed’” (Mowforth & Munt 2003:18). What does this statement imply? Give examples of how different definitions of sustainable development and sustainable tourism are used by different ‘actors’ on a local and global level. Whose ideologies and discourses of sustainability are more prominent than others, and what conflicts might arise?
b) Argue for and against whether ecotourism (as an example of ‘new’ forms of tourism) represents a ‘better’ form of tourism, both in regard to equity between people/countries, and in terms of environmental effects.
2. The Baltic countries gained their second independence in 1991, after 50 years of Soviet occupation, and are often described as economies “in transition”. Discuss what this transformation process comprises and compare the role of tourism planning during the Soviet occupation and today. How has the involvement of the state in tourism development and planning changed since independence? Also give examples of contemporary and future problems and possibilities for developing and planning for tourism in the Baltic States.
....scheee oder?!.....also ich bin durchgehend online die kommenden tagen juhui!!
